Eh, there was no grave that I’m returning from, but it’s good to be re-energizing my sproutling blog. (I can’t type too fast least I wake my bunny beast boyfriend, ke…)

I was going to comment on radio programmes but it’s turning out lame, aha, so I’ll just slide you the link without any of that boring prelude:

Creative dust

I feel the inklings of creativity stirring softly in my vein sometimes, like dust shuffled against a gray corner of a room by a small warm breeze. I don’t know if I will ever bloom permanently into a creative lifestyle, like I always imagined I would. I hope this summer frees the stress… and something lets it flow. Whatever it may be.

It maybe…

vocals, tinkling music, odd dishes, jellies mom will be made at me for making in the kitchen, patches sewn on old bagged stale clothing, pictures drawn in pen on crinkled used paper, idea bouncing with friends, clothing I wear with purpose in the morning, scenes I steal the light from an upload to my computer, words that gather like cellular structures are formed by dna to create….

I can’t believe how much junk there is in the world. Physical junk, clogging up the garbage cans and the corners of my own fucking room; Emotional junk, blocking up my real feelings from manifesting in words.

I’m incredibly disconnected right now. I want to purge… my stomach especially, since I’ve been eating rice cakes and pita w/ hummus like a third world child. When I’m so disconnected, I just get the urge to fill myself with more junk. Damn you perpetuating system of this damned civilization I live in!

In conclusion, I don’t really want too much for my birthday (April 12th equals 19 year old ;___;)…. let’s see…

- I want mom to take me clothes shopping, maybe in April when we’re here in Ottawa
- Maybe I want some alcohol…. because I’m a stereotypical teen like that
- I want homemade cards if at all possible.

That’s about it. Oh, and my residence mates have already been ordered to buy me a fairtrade cake from Second Avenue Sweets in the Ottawa Glebe <3 Nuff rant.

Salary: $10 an hour

That’s what’s filling up my upcoming week. Because I’m taking a first year Psychology class (as an elective), I get to sign up easily for all these Sociology, Technology and Psychology survey research projects. And my compensation is <3 $10 (or 1% towards my Psychology class, pfft).

Err, that is all. And I’ll throw you a song. Sorry that I am proving to you that there is no substance left in life, heh.

On this snowy day of March first, I did not miss out on my chance to have spring maple syrup. Sneaking into the International Student’s* Fulton Farm Maple Syrup trip, I had a joyful sweet time and found myself amiable and friendly to people <3

I have lots of affection for maple syrup… (I detest store bought table syrup!) This love has only been so strong ever since all the sunny fun I had with Fred’s family in their sugar bush last April. Sigh, I miss those bright yellow maple trees.

Everyone, even though it is expensive, treat yourself to Canadian pure maple syrup at least once this spring! Did you know it has less calories than honey? On 33 calories per 2 tablespoons, wee! (God I became such a calorie counter this year ;>__>) And it is high in other nutrients. Maple syrup!

Here is another dose of sweetness for you. A brilliant band I now love, My Little Airport… indie asian sound that doesn’t overkill on their cuteness.

Wizard Rock, here, in the muggle world. An underground of stitched-together marauding amateur teen Potter fans parodying away like little fiends. It is highly intriguing to me.

Yes, amazingly amateur and lo-fi, they twiddle away songs that are mostly humorous and always J.K. Rowling-ly related. Do they suck? Yes, often they suck. But it’s so brilliant to me that one fandom universe could spawn 300 amateur bands who are having so much fun. My pointless goal is to find really awesome gems amongst all this Potter sillyness. I’ll compile my favourites on this blog, soon hopefully. Yes, maybe some reviews of my favourite wrock bands (as it’s known, wrock, or wizrock sometimes).

This is the story of the subearthling men, who finally came to the surface and found the sun. The songs move in mood from the darkness of the underground to the brightness of the sun. It’s a mixtape Kosh (I) made.

For shit, life is such effort isn’t it? Especially the things you aren’t good at. I just want to stretch out in the middle of the street like a lazy cat there, on summer pavement, and snooze away without the worry of cars. (You should be afraid of cars by the way; hundred of thousands of car related accidents in North Americas alone every year, but only seriously half a dozen bear attacks. You should be jittery in the parking lot.)

I’m putting lots of effort in socializing now, because I suck at it. I can’t make out the exact use of people sometimes. If someone knows what they’re for an what I’m supposed to do with them please let me know. All the effort, it’s making my breath all steely and tight like when you run too much. Because it’s hard to connect with people, isn’t it?

Do you think that, if you weren’t tied by blood, that you could become friends with your mother? Father? Siblings? Extended family? If you didn’t live with them, or see them on holidays, or if you didn’t think that you were obligated to keep in touch, could you form a connection?

It’s so hard to change things that have been the same for so long. It’s like, it’s been this way for so long, why are you trying to change it now? I guess my only excuse is that I’m growing, and I want to change now that I realize there are reasons to change. I’m sad and I don’t want to regret later. I’m thinking these things about both my family, and the environment. I don’t want to regret this neglect I have towards either of them.

Books to read aloud to bunnies

A collection I’ve been wanting to assemble for a while now is children’s books. I see them in bookstores and fondly flip through them, admiring or scoffing the artwork and content as I please (sometimes the content makes me think the authors imagine children to be retarded). Did you know there’s a basketweaving course at Carleton U called Children’s Literature in which you read and analyze children’s classics? I’m wavering as to whether it’d be fun or totally unworth it.

I find myself wanting to collect these children books not merely for my own hoarding of pleasant tales. I actually imagine reading them to my children, me, the scatterbrained 19 year old (cough, you’re not 19 for two more months!). It seems to be a desire already in me to benefit the next generation… picking out the perfect collection of children’s stories that will spawn intelligence, compassion and creativity in my darling bebe.

Everyone should treat themselves with care and raise themselves like they would their own children…

The assembly above turned out to be less ‘readings for baby bunnies’ than I intended, but it’s good to see those four lovely books together… (er, I did intend more than four, but when the brain complains…)

Speaking of the brain, the hoard of my Psychology 1001 class learned about brain ventricles today. So you get this song that went round and round reverberating off my ventricles…
